Environmental Studies_AECC Project(s)

The projects are part of the undergraduate AECC syllabus for the Ist semester students.

The objective of the project work are as follows:

1.     To give you an insight into ground reality and field experience in understanding various dimensions of environmental issues.

2.  In organizing your learning towards recognizing a problem, framing objectives, experimenting, collecting, reasoning, and analyzing data(s), and in concluding inferences, and recommendations from them.

3.     This will be done in the following ways:

4.    Recording and reporting an event/incidence/problem related to the environment

Reporting an incidence/event/problem related to the environmental issue in pictures, photos, collecting and recording narrative and interviews. For instance: installation of the solar units in your region, unaddressed open dumping site, a dying water body in your region.

5.    Review article

This will include collecting information and data from the already reported work, research papers, survey reports, newspaper reports etcetera on various environmental issues like increasing forest fires, flash floods, cloud bursting in Uttrakhand, the declining number of biodiversity in the Western Ghats.

Terms, Guidelines, and Incentives:

1.    There is no restriction on making groups with students from the same departments. You are free to make your groups.

2.     If anyone has any idea or suggestion and they wish to work on it, can feel free to discuss.

3.     Concerning the first discussion class that happened on 11.12.2021, 10:30 AM (recording already shared in the google classroom), you all are supposed to give your names to your respective class coordinators by 18.12.2021, 10:00 AM.

4.     After having the list, you will get a schedule for the step 2 discussion with each group.

5.     For the offline mode, keeping in mind the pandemic we request students from Delhi, and Delhi NCR to come forward with their names.

6.     All the data collection, experimenting, surveys etcetera needs to be finished a month prior.

7.     In the last month, you will be asked to compile and prepare a report to be submitted in the stipulated time.

8.     Based on the quality of the data, the best few reports will be selected for compiling research papers.

9.     Based on the performance and the interest of the student you will be given an opportunity in working with your teacher in learning and writing a paper.
